Dear Katy. I cannot thank you enough for telling Jessie’s story in such a profound way. It touched me deeply. I have not been out much today but two people have already approached me telling me that they were moved by the article and did not know or give much thought to organ donation until reading your story. Thank you again for all that you did in helping me to honor Jessica Marie and to bring a greater awareness to the importance of organ and tissue donation. I wish you and your family a blessed Easter.

Can you send me a pdf of the Howard Dean article you wrote? It’s a wonderful tribute to Howard and very inspirational. I know his family is trying to get their hands on as many Rivereast newspapers as they can – I referred them to the Marlborough Market. Having the article electronically would be most appreciated by their family. Thank you!

Ms. Nally, I’ve religiously followed your paper since 1999. It’s great to see reporters take such a detailed interest in Colchester. You provide an evenhanded approach to increase voter awareness. I do not think we’ve had occasion to meet. I’m publisher of a local website devoted to transparency in Colchester. It’s really no more than taking public record and making it a lot more accessible… I am sure you’ll be on top of the stories. As a reader, I want to say thanks for your professionalism. Best wishes.

I just want to thank Katy Nally for the beautiful story she wrote on Sophia Holden in the June 4th issue. All of us at William J. Johnston Middle School were all very saddened to hear of her passing and this article really portrayed her life with us. Gram was one of those rare people that gave her endless assistance and caring ways to any student or co-worker that needed her. She will be remembered for many years to come, and this article was a beautiful tribute to her life. (Letter to the Editor.)

Hi Katy, congratulations on writing a series of articles about Will Hodge and the veteran tax exemption he and his wife were seeking from the town of Marlborough. Your comprehensive coverage shined the light on this important issue, captured the passion of the vets and residents who attended many of the meetings to voice their support, and outlined the process of how the town government works (sometimes not as fast as we’d like). We want to make sure that our veterans are treated with respect and receive what they have more than earned. …

Dear Mr. Thompson, on Thursday, Oct. 1 I went to the Colchester Board of Selectmen’s meeting to deliver the National Wildlife Habitat – Individual Wildlife Habitats certificates… At the end of the meeting, Katy Nally came up and introduced herself, asking for more information about our pursuit. The next day when I returned home I received a voicemail from her asking me to call. When we connected a short time later, she asked me a number of questions, listened intently as I provided detailed information, and followed up with good qualifying questions. I was afraid I overwhelmed her over the phone with a great deal of detail, but to my DELIGHT today I find she has written what I consider to be the BEST ARTICLE to date on our volunteer endeavor.
So I want to commend your new reporter Katy Nally and thank her on her informative and rousing article. Just how rousing? When I arrived home today, even before I read the newspaper, I had a voicemail from someone in town who was eager to certify their property after reading the article enough to track me down to talk about it.
To me if someone reads one of your reporter’s articles and is compelled to take immediate action, your reporter certainly has accomplished something wonderful on our behalf. We hope others in town will do the same and we will reach our goal very soon!
All the best to Katy in what seems to be the start of a terrific career for her…
