Executive Director, DC Honeybees, September 2011 — August 2014

Established a partnership with nonprofit Global Bees to fund a beehive installation in Peru. Blogged and used social media to chronicle the process. Maintained beehives around Washington, DC and blogged about their progress. Promoted urban beekeeping at community-wide events and led beekeeping workshops.

Almeria SolidariaEco Hostel MedellinIntag Tours, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, August 2013 — May 2014

Peru: Volunteered at a grade school named Almeria in Ancahausi, just outside of Cusco. Projects included routine maintenance of the grounds and farm, installing beehives, teaching English and gardening. All of my blog entries from Almeria can be found here.

Colombia: Worked at a hostel in Amaga near Medellin. Helped to install a permaculture garden and taught English to high school students aged 14-18. All of my blog entries from Amaga can be found here.

Ecuador: Participated in a homestay program with two families in Cuellaje. Blogged for Intag Tours about my experience.
